Grade 5 CS is all about learning to use the computer at National Trail Schools. Students will learn to keyboard, send emails, check assignments and grades, submit assignments, and use Google Docs. Students will also learn some basic parts of the computer and some simple programming using block commands. Problem solving is a main component of any computer class. As a part of this class we will also look at 21st century jobs and what training is needed.
Grade 6 CS is about improving our computer skills and learning how to apply technology to make our lives better. Students will refine their keyboarding and other computer usage skills to become faster and more efficient. Students will be able to use various application software effectively and understand when to use each. Students will learn how to use search engines and find accurate information on the internet safely. Students will look at higher levels of problem solving using computer science and will explore their own interests more as they develop simple web pages.
