LOCAL OUTREACH

National Trail has been participating in the Department of Defense Computers for Learning (DODCFL) Program since the fall of 2003. As part of that program we have acquired over 2 million dollars worth of computer equipment (CPU’s, monitors, latops, thin clients, keyboards, mice, printers) to expand the technology capacity here at NTLS.  Our computer students (as part of the hardware and technologies classes) have refurbished and placed most of these systems out into our classrooms multiple times over. We continually replace the oldest systems and rotate them out of use.

Along with acquiring these systems we continually offer recently replaced systems to students and staff for homes use.  The intent is to help all students make more of a technology transfer in their daily lives. Our own program “NTLS Computers for Students” refurbishes these machines as they become available.   Hundreds of these systems are in students homes as a result.  Additionally, we have supplied labs for the Preble County ESC as well as one for a library in Costa Rica at the Sarapiqui  Conservation  Learning  Center.
