ANNUAL CHILD FIND REQUEST

Annual Child Find Request

National Trail Local Schools are trying to identify children with disabilities who are age 21 and younger and who may be in need of special education services. The school district is conducting the intensive awareness campaign under requirements within the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the Ohio Revised Code and the State Board of Education Rules for the Education of Handicapped Children. Anyone knowing a child they suspect has problems with speech, hearing, physical development, vision or other suspected problems, should contact the school district. Each public school district offers evaluation for children with disabilities from age 3 through age 21 and education for all children with disabilities from age 3 through age 21. Once a school district is notified, the child’s parents are contacted and notified of their rights, and arrangements can be made to evaluate the child in cooperation with the parents.

Additional information may be obtained by contacting Director of Special Education or the Superintendent, National Trail Local Schools, 6940 Oxford-Gettysburg Rd., New Paris, Ohio, 937-437-3333 ext 1302.
